Being sick puts tech in perspective

March 9, 2005 by Mike Wendland

Thanks to those who sent get well messages since I came down with the flu last week. Man, it’s been a blinger.
I’m still only about 50 percent but for the first time in over a week, I can actually say I feel a little better.
But during this past week I’ve learned that e-mail and the Net can be put on hold and the world won’t come to an end.
I also learned that the best way to get through an illness while flat on your back on the couch is with cable TV’s On Demand. I caught up on every episode of HBO’s Carivale from the second season and watched a gazillion movies. On Demand is the greatest invention since NyQuill.

I can relate; never have I felt so sick before this flu I acquired last week. Unreal!

I hope you are feeling better. I too had a cold that turned into a serious case of bronchitis (with wheezing)! I am lifting you up in prayer. Don?t forget to have some cough drops handy, as after the infection has left your lungs, you might still be coughing for a few weeks later.
