Bill Gates and my Tablet PC
May 6, 2005 by Mike Wendland
Apparently, when Bill Gates saw me using my Tablet PC during our interview last week, he got the wrong idea that I somehow had reverse switched back to the PC from Macs. Today’s column in the Freep sets the record straighty. MIKE WENDLAND: Tablet’s cool, but my heart is with Macs

I can see where the tablet PC form factor would be cool. It’s the only type of Windows machine I would buy at this point. Funny how Mr. Gates might assume that you’ve switched back to the platform when you’re using a piece of hardware that he did not create. Certainly his software complements the hardware, but the main cool thing about a tablet PC is the hardware, not Windows.
Still waiting for an Apple version. I am sure it’s being held back until it’s something insanely great.
I have a Tablet and One Note has to be the coolest software the world has ever seen. I’m a physician. This makes my office work so convenient. I can even dictate my observations right on the same oage where I’m taking down patient info.
Good post, Mike. I acquired a Mac 2 - 3 months ago. I really like it. To be honest, I’ve been a bit surprised at how much I like it. Tablets still have my heart, though.
