New iPod models officially announced

It’s now official. In an effort to keep its dominant market position against a flood of competing products, Apple has introduced new iPod models with more storage capacity, much longer battery life and lower starting prices. Apple Unveils New iPod mini Starting at Just $199 and Apple updates iPod Photo lineup.

    no color screen on the minis, no surprise. It would serve little purpose to most users. Some might like to see the album cover art, but they are a distinct minority. To differentiate the product lines and keep the iPod photo viable, they need to keep the other iPods greyscale screens.

    Gosh darn it….
    Just when I was ready to go get His & Her shuffles, they gotta put this $350 iPod Photo in front of me? At five or six hundred bucks, no way. At $350 - they just might have me.
