Online dating controversy

Talk about shameless hype. An online dating outfit called True.com is trying to get state legislatures around the nation to require personal dating site ads to carry warning labels that criminal background checks haven’t been done on the names of people looking for romance. It’s all seen by many as a ploy to get exposure for the suppossed background checks it does on its clients. But, as a slew of critics point out, True.com’s background checks are far from comprehensive. Regulation of Online Dating Services Sparks Controversy
