Tiger problems getting notice

May 6, 2005 by Mike Wendland

There are a lot more problems of glitches and hiccups with Tiger than I’ve seen reported about previous Apple’s OS upgrades. Looks like the reports are picking up steam, too. Will Tiger Problems Hurt Apple?

The Tiger version that people started buying a week ago went gold master and was sent to be duplicated, packaged, and sent to retail distribution about six weeks ago. In the meantime, programmers have continued to receive reports from beta testers and work on the first update to Tiger, probably coming in a week or two. If that update fixes the majority of bugs thus found, this will not be a big problem for Apple. I have updated two iBooks to Tiger with no problems. Waiting to do my ‘main machine’ Powerbook until that 10.4.1 update is released.
