Tiger previewed on Podcast

April 27, 2005 by Mike Wendland

Okay, as promised…Our latest podcast is up.
We have a special preview podcast of Apple’s new Tiger operating system, which goes on sale Friday. We hear from Frank Casanova, senior director of Mac OS X audio and video, via Tiger’s upgraded iChat AV. It’s an unbelievably cool app that will make podcasting even more fun.
Bill Carver gives us a Network Minute preview of VoIP phone systems.
And our resident Gizmo Dude Kim Culhan has some fun with a “Turn off Your PC Week” campaign.
As always, your comments and MP3 files are welcome.

Thanks for the podcast Mike! I’ve been using Tiger for a few days and like some of the lesser known features. I agree with Frank though that Dashboard will open up A LOT of opportunities for the community to write widgets. Spotlight may take a little time to get used to how convenient it is, but it’s already saved me a few minutes looking for a font. Will be nice when and if it can perform searches on CD’s or server volumes. iChat AV sounds cool, but the hardware requirements are high (but it sounds like a great advancement towards “video phones”).
