Auction training site for kids
Online auctions have become the nation’s new way to buy and sell. Sites like eBay and Craig’s List, are used by millions of adults to get rid of unwanted goods and make some extra money. In my NBC-TV “High Tech Talk” segment this week, I show a similar site aimed at kids that teaches them how online auctions work.
It’s called WhadYaPuck.com. Here’s how it works: You sign your child up for a year long membership. They can then buy and sell all the items they wish like toys and videos and clothing without ever having to ask for additional money to list items or make purchases. This is a cashless system where “pucks†are what you seek and spend.
The site describes itself as a financial tool that teaches kids how to manage their own account, treat others fairly, be honest about the items they are selling and to think about the value of an item before they spend their pucks on them.
