Last Gadget Standing at CES: The EyeFi card

A camera/video transfer system called Eye-Fi defeated the Flip MinoHD, the Google G1 Android and the Livescribe Pulse Smartpen to be named “Last Gadget Standing” at this year’s contest at CES.

Eye-Fi’s new video technology uploads videos wirelessly to YouTube as the best gadget. Eye-Fi makes wireless memory cards for digital cameras that upload photos – and soon videos – to your computer and the Web.

It’s a $79-$129 regular SD card that goes into your camera and stores images. But the card also has built-in Wi-Fi that connects to your home network. It uploads automatically as soon as you return to your wireless network. Cards range from 2GB to 4GB of storage capacity and support geotagging, social network uploads and much more.

At the CES demo, Eye-Fi invited a Johnny Cash impersonator on stage to perform while they wirelessly uploaded live video footage of it, demonstrating how effortless it is to upload video memories directly to the Web where they can be shared with the world.

Here’s the video from the CES demo:
