CompUSA is back – 23 new stores opened

Thought they were dead, huh?
The once-bankrupt electronics retailer CompUSA is back. At least in Florida, North Carolina and Texas with 23 stores. Here’s a list.
It’s all a result of aggressive new tactics by CompUSA’s new owner, the Technology Products Group at Systemax, which also owns the web-only electronics firm Tiger Direct.
Will they expand again? Depends on how the new stores do. But with major rival Circuit City gone, the competetive landscape just may have improved enough to make a go… again.

See, I never really saw Circuit City as a competitor to CompUSA. Locally, Microcenter perhaps, nationally probably Fry’s, but Circuit City was Best Buy’s competition, not CompUSA’s.
