Is “iSlate” the name of Apple tablet?

Looks like the next must-have gadget will be the iSlate.

According to WHOIS records, Apple has acquired the domain iSlate.com (currently inactive) two years ago. The company is known to have picked up the domain in 2007 and used the registrar MarkMonitor to keep the ownership secret.

However, the MacRumors fan site has discovered that Apple’s name was exposed for a few weeks until the identity was suppressed again.

That looks like a great name for the much anticipated Tablet.

Speculation has it that we’ll learn more details at a Jan, 26 Apple event. The dvuce itself isn’t expected to be available until March or April.
