Apps to make charitable donations

Donating to charity before the end of the year can reduce tax burden and help you feel good about help others in need.

I’ve found a number of apps make it possible at the touch of a button.

Pledgeling is an app that allows you to find and donate to thousands of verified nonprofits, make donations on the go, and build your charitable profile. Pledgeling doesn’t charge fees and is free for the donor and the charity. It stores your payment info securely. And, of course, you can consolidate your giving history and tax receipts into one spot so keeping track of donations is easy. The app is free for Apple’s iOS.

Google’s One Today app allows you to give a little everyday – $1 to be exact. The app features new projects every day from U.S.-based nonprofits that have been validated by the IRS. The app also makes it easy to get a convenient, year-end tax receipt for all your donations. The free app is available for iOS and Android.

ChariPick lives up to its name by letting donors cherry pick from featured charities every day. Input your interests and you’ll be presented with nonprofits that accept donations aligned with where you feel best about donating. You can give as little as $1 and then share your good deeds on Facebook and Twitter. ChariPick
