Back to School Apps for Parents

From homework to field trips, the new school year is about to put a lot more on our plates.

But managing it all and helping students be as successful as they can be is easier with the right apps. I have some great back to school apps… for Parents!

The TeachMe app line gives parents access to short lessons for age-appropriate subjects from preschool to third grades. For example, the kindergarten version consists of six subjects and helps students with sight words, math, letter tracing, and more. The app is $1.99 for iOS for one grade level.

The School A to Z app brings helps parents understand their child’s homework. The English part of the School A to Z app, for example, has more than 350 definitions of commonly used terms from primary high school. Other subjects covered are math, technology, spelling, and more. School A to Z even has a feature that helps keep track of assignments. The app is free for iOS and Android.

The Doodle app helps coordinate parents who volunteer their time as class parents and for other school-related activities, such as field trips. Simply create an event on the schedule and parents can receive invites to sign up. Doodle also has alert reminders and allows users to send invites to others, even if they don’t have the app. The app is free for iOS and Android.
