Microsoft knows when an old dog has died.

Effective today, it has ended official support for Windows 98 and Windows Me. In October, it will end support for the first generation of Windows XP (using Service pack 1).

>From my e-mail, I know a lot of people still use those old systems. TechTipsToday.com lists places you can go online to find help.

Odd. I don’t recall Microsoft ever supporting any of its operating systems. Did I miss something over the past two decades?

Microsoft has been infamous for releasing buggy, unstable resource hogging software that drives end-users saying to themselves I hope it boots clean this time and why doesn’t someone make a stable, solid operating system and put Microsoft out of our misery? And even the so-called support doesn’t seem to be much help. Vista will mostlikly be more of the same over-priced, bloated, buggy interface thats a complete headache to use.

I have always gotten far better support for Microsoft products the farther I look from Microsoft literature and upgrades. Go figure, it has been quite a while since Microsoft has known more than anyone else about what goes on inside the Windows monster, if in fact they ever did. Every feature of Vista is currently available if someone wants to round up the components.

Gates should be tried for massive fraud due to the ineffective junk software he ships and charges outlandish prices for. Linux is much better.
