Social networking sites like MySpace and Facebook have spawned all sorts of copycat sites, like online destinations for seniors, babies, pets and the like. But here’s one you may not have heard about: A place for patients of cancer and other serious illnesses to find support and share their journey.
It’s called the Caring Bridge and it is a deeply personal and yet inspirational resource designed for patients and their relatives to keep loved ones informed during difficult times.
In return, family and friends give patients and caregiver support through guestbook messages, responding to the patient’s online website and journal… creating a special community of family and friends to rally around a loved one at the time of a health crisis or accident. Read the story »

Wanna go into space? Send your picture up for $2
That’s the idea behind a site called IntoSpace.org that, for $2, will send your photo into space on a space vehicle it plans to launch in 2010.
It will print a catalog that will consist of 300 sheets (300 “rockets”), every “rocket” will be able to deliver up to 1000 “astronauts” by occupying the place of 25×40 cm. on a single sheet.
Cost of 1 seat(1×1 cm ~ 0.4×0.4 in.) is only $2.
But if you have a blog and mention it, like I just did, they’ll give you a free ride. Heh Heh.
