Sirius XM Radio Now Broadcasts to Your BlackBerry

The online streaming version of Sirius XM satellite radio is now available on many of the newer BlackBerry smartphones. Sirius XM just announced that a free app is up for download at its website , though the service isn’t free. Sirius XM is trying to win ground by streaming its programming online both via the web and mobile devices. An iPhone app launched last year. Now BlackBerry users get to try out the 120 channels of exclusive programming, which includes talk shows from CNN, Fox News, Playboy and Oprah. There’s also an abundance of sports coverage and commercial-free music.... 

Foursquare BlackBerry Client Launches to the Public

We had a chance to check it out in private beta , but today sees the official public launch of Foursquare’s mobile client for BlackBerry users. The client will work on any BlackBerry device with a trackball — essentially 8000 and 9000 series handsets, plus the Storm — although a special client built for its touchscreen is separately in the works as well. It’s still officially considered a beta version, so be prepared for perhaps a few rough edges here and there. But as we saw in the private beta, the app is generally stable and provides the typical expected functionality...

BlackBerry Storm aims to one-up the iPhone

The BlackBerry Storm, coming soon to Verizon, is about to give the iPhone some serious competition. Seriously It’s a touchscreen that appears in the photograph Verizon is showing off on its website to be a bit thicker than the iPhone but shares its minimalistic controls, with just four buttons along the bottom. The Verizon advertisement for the handheld asks but doesn’t answer the question “What does it feel like?” confirmation to me that the rumored haptics feedback – that little bump that signals a completed task – will indeed be part of the device.  Read More →
