		<description>Absolutely.  It's essentially just a wireless router with an integrated hard drive.  The automatic backup utility, "Time Machine" is only available from Apple though.  However as long as the backup application you use allows you to backup to network shares you can use it in a similar manner.  All but the simplest  backup software should be able to do this.

That being said...  The seamless integration between the Mac and Time Capsule (or an Apple Airport Extreme with external hard drives attached via USB) is a beautiful and simplistic approach to backing up your computer.  I believe that Steve Jobs said one of the biggest complaints from computer users has been the ability to easily and confidently backup their important data.  This hardware/software duo will help to eliminate this complaint once more people start to implement it.  If you're not a Mac user (and unless your a hardcore PC gamer you should be IMO) I am sure that Windows/Intel and Linux users will be getting this same level of simplicity in the future.</description>
