Dual monitor question

May 2, 2005 by Mike Wendland

Update May 2, 2005 1:35pmEST Solved - just deleted the old Safari plist and started it up again.

Now that I’ve solved my connectivity problems with the Tiger upgrade for Mac, here’s a question that has been driving me nuts.
I use dual monitors.
One of my apps… Safari… always opens on the left-hand screen. I want it to open on the right screen.
It’s easy to drag it over, of course, but I’m sure there’s a setting somewhere that can open it on the monitor of my choice… right?

Just change the monitors locations. Swap em.
Or…. swap the connectors at the back of the PC

Safari should remember and reuse the position of the last Safari window closed. I use exclusively dual monitor systems and haven’t had a problem.

But Safari doesn’t remember anymore with my setup….

Try the same trick that works with finder - launch, move to desired screen, quit, relaunch. It should be back to where you left it as long as you didn’t do anything other than move the window.

I use a dual display and have Firefox open on the second screen in that manner.
