After 30-plus years as a journalist, I’ve come to expect little in terms of innovation or progress from bureaucrats.     This is typical of governments that want as much money as possible so the bureaucrats can buy votes and “pay back” those that gave big to their campaigns.

    Then again, this could also just be pure idioicy.

    This sort of thing is what has turned me into something of an anti-tax crusader, as we’re getting taxed every way possible. I don’t mean to turn this into a political rant (I mean, this IS a tech blog), but can’t help but plug the FairTax while I’m at it. ;)
