Microsoft campus visit offers glimpse of future

I just got back from a visit to the sprawling Microsoft headquarters in Redmond, WA outside Seatle. I’m pleased to report the soft drinks are still free and the coffee is still Starbucks.
Once again, I came away slightly in awe at the size of the corporation and the caliber of its very, very smart people.
Included in my visit this time was a tour of Microsoft’s Home of the Future. It’s been around for more than a decade now, but the latest updates reinforce just how connected we’ve become and where it is all headed.
That’s what I wrote about in this morning’s Freep. MIKE WENDLAND: The homes of tomorrow will rely on networking

I tried some of this microsoft technology in my home. Now my toaster has a virus and it’s producing more spam than I can possibly eat.

The other day as I was exiting, I bumped my head on a pop up window. So…. I’ve got a mac house. Everything works and it looks great:)
