Mp3 music player in sunglasses

oakley.pngIf looking cool and being cool is important to you, then you won’t think twice about shelling out big bucks for the Thump, from the Oakley sunglasses people. It’s a music player built into a pair of shades. The 128 MB model sells for $395, while the 254 MB version is $495. The who shebang weights about 1.9 ounces.

Great idea, especially for runners. But the memory is so weak. 254 MB? Give me a break. I think the new Ipod Shuffle has given flash players a new minimum standard–512 MB. I know that the costliest Oakley’s are over $300, but for $395, how can you give a mere 128 MB?

I wonder how good the earbuds are. This can make a huge difference, too.

Cool idea, but true to form, Oakley makes them way overpriced.
