Palm will run Microsoft

Anyone want to bet that this is vaporware, not available for months? Unlike Apple, which usually has new product available immediately after announcement, Microsoft tends to promise instead of deliver. Still, this sounds like a very slick phone. Well, Windows Mobile 5 is shipping. I have a Dell Axim running it in my posession right now, so that isn’t vapor.

The onus is on Palm to complete the hardware layers of the OS and ship the product. So, the real question of availability is more on Palm’s reputation. Do they have a rep of announcing product and not shipping?

Sounds great, but the question I have is whether it’s gonna be compatible with Mac–through some kind of software translation. I was hoping to get a Treo, but with this anouncement, I’m not sure it’s gonna happen. Anyone have any ideas? Mac compatible or not?

So, does this mean my phone can now become completely insecure and full of viruses, adware and spyware?
