Podcasting record tools still lacking

July 18, 2005 by Mike Wendland

The podcasting craze shows no signs of letting up. Podcasting Spurs a Media Land Grab. Most podcasts, though, are pretty amateurish, with poor quality and limited material. My biggest frustration in making podcasts is the lack of an all-in-one recording tool that makes the creation process simple.

Mike, couldn’t you use iMovie as an all-in-one recording tool? The timeline viewer and iTunes integration as well as support for audio recording would seem to make this the kind of tool you describe. I guess the only drawback would be that exporting the audio only can only be done in AAC, AIFF, WAV, so you would need a second piece of software to compress it to mp3.
