This week’s podcast: marriage via iMovie, Comcast’s DNS woes, podcast’s power grows

Our latest podcast is up and available.
Whew… it’s 37 minutes long and spans the globe, talking about a wide range of technology issues and features with lots of people.
Click here to hear the podcast.
Shownotes are in the extended entry.
And send me your comments, reviews, suggestions as an MP3 audio file. No longer then a minute, please. E-mail them to me at mwpodcast AT gmail DOT com.

First, we hear aboui Comcast’s widespread service problems last week from a technology networking expert named Bill Carver. Then we check in with our Gizmo Dude correspondent Kim Culhan who explains the DNS snafu that plagued Comcast users last week and how many users ended up “borrowing” the name servers owned by other companies to get around the Comcast slowdowns. How-tos are here.

We talk next with Josh Rafokosky of Los Angeles, who made a desktop movie on host Mac to propose to his girlfriend - now wife. The video is posted at thegirlinthepicture.com. Josh told me it has had 250,000 views so far.

And then we Skyped across the Atlantic to Amsterdam and talked to media/marketing/PR guru Neville Hobson on what podcasting means to big media and big business. General Motors does a podcast now. So does Newsweek.

Finally, we talked with Eric Callis, senior editor with Macmove.com, about the release of Tiger, Apple’s new operating system.
