The next wave on social media is in full swing and it revolves around video clips. Behind the two most popular video sharing apps are the two biggest social media companies. But there’s no escaping the video reach of these two powerhouse companies.

vidshareThe newest app making social media waves is called Vine, and it’s owned by Twitter. Vine does super short and looping six second videos shot via your smartphone or tablet, be it Apple or Android. Share your world, as you see it. Vine videos can be embedded directly into Twitter tweets, or shared via a separate webpage or to Facebook.

The other big video sharing app is owned by Facebook. It’s Instagram, which used to be just for photo sharing. Instagram lets you loop 15 second videos together, more than twice as long as Vine. Instagram also shares with all the various social media sites
